It’s Clean-up Week! We encourage everyone to clean up your own area to get the estate looking great for the summer – verges, gardens, paths etc. On Wednesday please join us at 7pm to pick up litter from the park on Balally Hill. We’ll provide bags, pickers and the more help we get the quicker it will be.
The committee will take care of shared areas and non-mans land on other nights of the week, but feel free to get started before then.

We have arranged for two skips to allow residents to dispose of unwanted household items at a cost of €10 per household. The skip will be located at St. Olaf’s school on Saturday 21st May from 8am to 12 noon. Committee members will supervise the skips and can only take payment in cash which must be paid at the time.

The roundabout that we all know and love so well has become somewhat overgrown, tired and undefined in recent years. It has also become a dumping ground for rubbish and grass cuttings. In its current state the roundabout requires a lot of man hours to maintain and considerable watering, both of which are unsustainable.
Your committee have decided that a revamp of the roundabout is long overdue and we have been working with a landscape gardener and DLRCC who will assist with this project. We will embark on a major transformation of the roundabout over the coming months that we see us through the next 50 years, with new trees and plants and some hard landscaping too.
We look forward to the unveiling of the new roundabout and please bear with us while it’s under construction. We are confident that the new revamped roundabout will be a wonderful addition to Balally estate and visually appealing to all.
If you come across rodents around your house the HSE provides the some advice that residents can follow including storing food and waste so it cannot be accessed, and sealing buildings so rodents cannot enter.
The annual cleanup week will be from 18th to 22nd May. We will focus on a different road each night and encourage you to help out or tidy up outside your own house. Let’s get out and make the estate look great!
Our members are a wealth of knowledge. One man in particular, who shall for now be known as Sam Johnson has lots of useful, quick and economical tips to share with us. Through the gardening page, he will help us residents get the most from our gardens with regular tips, hints and updates.
