Continuing to Work for You

While your residents association has had to postpone some of our events due to Covid-19, we continue to work on your behalf to make our estate a great place to live. With your contribution, we will be able to continue all estate management activities to ensure our neighbourhood is maintained to the highest standard. We will manage all communal grass cutting, weeding, edging and planting and run the annual clean-up Week, litter pick and anti-graffiti activity. We are representing our members in conversations with the council on issues and decisions that may affect you, including parking/traffic issues on Balally Park and Sandyford Road, cycle lane introduction, and proposals for Active School Travel routes through the estate. We will also continue our programme of printed and online communications to ensure you are kept up to date on all activities and we look forward to running some exciting social events when allowed to do so!

Tidy Districts Winner 2019

We are delighted to announce that Balally was the winner of Tidy Districts 2019 for Best Housing Estate / Apartment complex (501 dwellings and over)!

Congratulations and thanks to everyone who put in a lot of hard work in June and July to make the estate look great. There was lots of gardening, cleaning, tidying, painting and helping others that helped us win the award. It’s wonderful to see the community spirit to make Balally a great place to live.

While the competition is primarily an anti-litter and anti-graffiti competition, it has evolved over the years and now considers biodiversity, ecological projects and community engagement. At the Awards Ceremony on Wednesday night we got particular praise for the roundabout, our pollinator friendly planting, our links with St Olafs NS and our targeted communications. https://www.dlrcoco.ie/en/news/general-news-press-releases/climate-heroes-clean-tidy-districts-awards

Thank you and keep up the good work!

Clean-Up Week 10th-16th June

It’s time to get ready for our annual Clean-Up Week! This year we need your support to help Balally and Sandyford Road win Tidy Districts 2019.

We need as many people as possible to spend an hour or so in the evening to help with the clean-up. The more people who help them quicker it will be. Can you rope in a neighbour too? We will have blue bags, pickers and gloves at each location, but if you could bring a sweeping brush, spade and dustpan that would help. Join us from about 6:30 each evening this week

  • Monday – Balally Road & lane ways
  • Tuesday – Balally Grove, Avenue & bottom of Park
  • Wednesday – Balally Hill & litter pick up in the park
  • Thursday – Balally Drive (top & bottom) & roundabout
  • Friday – Roundabout painting, weeding and planting

Judging takes place in July so its all hands on deck for our biggest clean up yet! We encourage you to take some time to edge and cut your grass verge as a lot of marks are awarded for neat verges. If your neighbours need a hand you could help them out too.

AGM 2018

The annual general meeting for Balally Residents’ Association will take place on Monday 22nd October at 8pm in St. Olaf’s School. We look forward to seeing you then. If anyone would like to help out, this is a great opportunity to get involved, whether it is to organise an event, collect subs, be part of the committee or to help with gardening and maintenance. This year we are considering entering the Tidy Districts Competition so want to gauge the level of interest from everyone in Balally.
